Cultural epicenter of Chiapas
This town is located near the Tzotziles’ comunities of Chamula and Zinacatán Village. It’s a mountanious region inside the Chiapas’ mountain range. It’s located in a beautiful part of the meseta, in the border with Guatemala. The ancient Colonial lifestyle in San Cristobal de las Casas left a lot of cultural evidences, that we can see in the architectonic works, with a priceless historic and artistic values.
In October, at the end of the month, every year takes place the Cervantino Barroque Festival, that remins ten daysand has several artistic and cultural events from the whole world.Near the city there are many places, like the Hollow Mountains (Caverns) of Saint Cristobal, The Arcotete, Saint Anita, The holly place at the foothill of the Huitepec, that at the same time is a mountain with an ecological reserve in cloudy forest.
Moxviquil is an other archeological palce above a mountain at the North of the City, or Saint Cruz Hill at East, it has a hermitage at the top and a common land carring the forsest.
Saint Cristobal has also an exotic flora and fauna that magnify this beautiful Chiapanec landscape, with a lot of charm and tradition. Is not in vane its acknowledgment as the Culture capital.
For that reason Saint Cristobal de las Casas is another destination that you can’t exclude in your trips. Come to the unique! Come to the different! Come to Saint Cristobal!
