Saint Maria Del Oro has a lot of beautiful legends about its enigmatic lagoon. It tell us that in 18th century, at the Spaniards conquest the gold was plentiful among the villagers, it was so much gold that the people say that if you dug a plant up, a lot of golden dust came out easily.
This island is around 2 hours from Tepic, in Nayarit; but first you have to arrive by car to the Batanga quay, where you’ll aboard a sloop which will take you to the Island; it’s a 15 minutes trip along waterways rounded by exuberant forest, and when you finally arrive to Mexcaltitlán you’ll find a total harmony; without any car around or any progress; only kind, cheerful, enthusiastic, nice, honest and loving people. It seems like here there aren’t wars neither fights, it look as if the time had halted.
Saint Blas is not just a quay; it is also a port, a city and a Nayarit town located in front of the Pacific Ocean and founded in the Spaniards Colony.
Saint Blas Port has a long history, since it foundation in 17th century, became easily the most important shipyard in the Pacific. From here the Spaniard’s ships set out to Alaska and the evangelization to California, where Fray Junipero Serra founded 17 missions.
Nayarit is a Mexican country located at the occident part of Mexico.
It’s a Nahuatl word that means “God’s son that is in the heaven and the Sun” and isn’t just a meaning because in this wonderful country we find a real rapprochement between heaven and Sun across the Nayarit Riviera which commence in Saint Blass Town and finishes in Vallarta Port; It also has three beach resorts: lacustrines, fluvial and hot springs.
It has enigmatic and touristic places with an extraordinary weather. Nayarit is an important sugar cane and corn producer, having a 100% agriculture.
