The most important archeological zone in México

Cholula-2Cholula “water that falls from a flight place” It is the most important archeological zone in Mexico and it’s located in Puebla. It has wonderful colonial religious precincts, but the most attractive is the pyramid, which is one of the biggest monuments in the world.

This archeological vestige is conformed by different superposed pyramids along six centuries in a base of 450 meters long and 65 meters high. In fact it’s twice bigger than Sun Pyramid in Teotihuacan and four times bigger in volume than Keops in Egypt.

History tells us that it was dedicated to Chiconahui Quiahuitl, rain god; and when Hernan Cortes arrived to such extraordinary place it was hidden.

City of angels

PUEBLA01Probably known as “The city of angels” Puebla is located two hours away from Mexico City. Its cultural patrimony is protected by the State Legislation and UNESCO. Puebla has different icons that represent the Mexican nationalism, like the Railroad museum, the china poblana, the typical food, the Talavera pottery; moreover the catholic religiousness in its habitants that is more than in the rest of the country.

The gastronomy is plenty, we can find dishes that mix Spanish, Asiatic and indigenous elements: appetizers like chalupas, cemitas and different kind of tamales; besides the mole, and the Nogada chillies, globally known.
