Puerta de entrada al mundo maya

Chetumal, capital del estado mexicano Quintana Roo, se localiza en un punto de suma importancia, pues es el punto medio entre México y Centroamérica, cuna del mestizaje. Chetumal es un centro cultural lleno de impactantes zonas arqueológicas, que nos regalan un sereno embrujo. En esta ciudad se dieron los acontecimientos más relevantes de la conquista española hasta la disolución definitiva del imperio maya.

A cinco minutos de Playa del Carmen, Xcaret es un parque turístico cuyo nombre significa “Pequeña Caleta”. Cuenta con todas las actividades necesarias para quienes disfrutan de los acercamientos intensos con la naturaleza. Tendrás la oportunidad de sumergirte en la segunda barrera de coral más larga del mundo, ya sea en tours de buceo o de snorkel, según tu experiencia, aunque para aquéllos que van a sumergirse por primera vez se ofrecen cursos básicos. Si prefieres algo más excitante, también cuentan con recorridos de snuba, un nuevo deporte acuático que combina la tecnología del buceo con la libertad del snorkel; o el sea treck, la espectacular caminata submarina.

Una leyenda que vive

La zona arqueológica de Uxmal es uno de los vestigios precolombinos más importantes después de Chichén Itzá. Obra maestra que exhibe el genio y la creatividad humana. Prueba fehaciente de la interacción de valores humanos en sus expresiones arquitectónica, monumental y de desarrollo urbano. Lo que le ha valido ser zona protegida, patrimonio histórico, reconocida actualmente como una de las nuevas siete maravillas del mundo. Según las investigaciones, los primeros habitantes llegaron desde el año 800 A.C. Por lo que existe la posibilidad de que gran cantidad de las edificaciones actuales, sean de este período.

It’s appreciated because of its coloring and natural resources that give a suitable atmosphere that every traveler avid of adventure will enjoy, and above all you’ll have a respectful contact with nature since moreover the archeological zone, you could enjoy the Biosphere Reserve “Sian Ka’an” that means “Where the sky come into the world” in Mayan dialect. This place had been declared Mankind patrimony by UNESCO in 1987.

Chichén Itzá

The doorway to another World…

Chichén Itza is the most beautiful vestige that left one of the most important prehispanic civilizations; the Mayan culture. Its name means Chichén (well border) and Itza (Water sorcerer) “In the well border of the water sorcerer” Located at Yucatan Peninsula, at south of Merida, this destination has a warm and dry weather and an annual temperature of 34º approximately.

The constructions in Chichén Itza show us the architectonic and iconographic elements of Puuc style (characteristic because of serpents’ shapes) even recently it had found elements from other cultures that cohabit with the Mayas, like the Toltecas culture and for that reason it has an owned architecture, different to other Mayan sites that have the same Puuc style.
